Planning Blog
Props:
Seeing as I am advertising a baby yoda figure, one of the props will of course be baby yoda. Other props will be other Star Wars products such as a Darth Vader figure and some lego Star Wars minifigures.
Costumes:
I will be the only actor for this project, and I will most likely be wearing a Star Wars-themed shirt. This would fit in line with the overall branding of the product. Perhaps I will try and find some sort of fabric that resembles a Jedi cloak. To add on, I will most likely print out a star-wars themed background to create a setting that fits within this brand.
Schedule:
On 10/24/20 I will be gathering my items and props. This will be on a Saturday, so I will have plenty of time to do this. Seeing as I’m working on my own, it should be very easy for me to begin creating my storyboard the same day. I should have enough free time that day filming and taking multiple takes. If I don’t have the time to begin filming my commercial on Saturday, I will start filming on 10/25/20, which is the following day. This will be a Sunday, so once a gain I will have plenty of free time. After will start editing on Sunday as well, and finish off the commercial by reviewing the final version and making any tweaks or edits necessary. Estimated time: 2 days.
Locations list:
I will only be filming in my bedroom because its easier to use set piece indoors. My bedroom is also the quietest place I can film my commercial. This is important if I want clean audio.
Backup Plan:
If I cant find a Star Wars themed shirt or something that resembles a Jedi cloak then i simply wont show myself in the video. If I don’t include myself in the commercial I don’t think it will make a drastic difference in the final project. I will however have my hands in th shots. I want to have my hands visibly carrying and playing with the different toys in the commercial because toy commercials often do that to convey to kids how they can interact with their product. If due to the icing of filming there is too much background noise I will most likely move my props and set piece to a different location. The hallway outside my apartment is often quiet, so that should be a good backup location to film.
