Editing Blog for Music video
I originally began my filming process by screen recording the actual song that I’m using from YouTube, and then separating the audio from the video, so that I can then insert only the audio into my project to begin with. I made sure to cut the song I’m using down to one minute. This way when I insert my different clips I will be able to constraint my music video down to that time frame. After I inserted the audio of my song, I began inserting the clips I had created form the filming process. For this project I used iMovie as my main editing software on my iPad. Using this software made the editing process pretty easy, seeing as I could upload all my clips directly from my phone, and into the iMovie app. Once I uploaded all my clips into iMovie, I made sure to arrange them into the order of my storyboard. I then made sure to disconnect all the individual clips of audio from my individual scenes, so that I can then delete that audio. The audio from my different scenes would have had unnecessary background noise which would clash with the sound of the music. This was an important step to do if I wanted my audio to sound crisp and clean. My sixth scene was the scene that I ended up spending the most time on during my editing process, because that was the only scene in my music video that was animated. In order to animate, I had to use the app: FlipaClip. This is a free animation app that can be bought on th App Store. I would then take a video of thsi animated scene, and upload it to iMovie as well. To end my editing process I had just a few more things to do. For one thing, I had to create and ending screen in which the words: “By Daniel Markov” showed up. This was pretty easy because iMovie already gives you the option to create title screens. I didn’t have to edit in a title screen in my introduction scene, because my first scene showed myself holding a magazine with the title of song and the artist who made it. The last thing that I really had to fix was the way my music ended.Since my music video had to be one minute, I couldn’t use the whole song, so my music videos audio ends pretty abruptly. To fix this, I was simply able to use the fade feature at the end of my music. This way the song is able to end gradually. Finally, I ended the editing process by putting a filter on all my scenes.
