Filming Blog (Blog for 12/3)

Since this is supposed to be an update blog, and I missed the due date for my original filming blog, I figured I would include the information that was meant to go into that blog and include it here. I’m aware that the grade for my filming blog is still a zero since I didn’t submit it on the due date, but I’m hoping that this blog will at least present some useful information regarding to my filming process. The first scene of my music video would be a scene of myself holding up a magazine close to the camera. The cover of the magazine would have the title of the song on the cover, and the singer who made the song. I knew that for this scene I would have to create the magazine cover myself. That was most likely the most complicated prop I had to have on the set, because it was one of the only props I needed to create myself. Other props such as sunglasses, and a handbag were much easier to obtain because all I had to do was borrow those items from my mom.The only other props I had to make was a “Keep Calm carry On” poster and a “For Sale!” Sign. Out of context these props seem a bit strange so let me explain. One of the lyrics of the song I chose is “...reed keep calm carry on poster...” so I figured i would act out a scene of myself doing exactly that. There is  another scene in which I am calmly shopping for clothes, but once I see the “For Sale” sign I start frantically filling my cart with as much clothes as possible. The biggest prop I had to obtain was a shopping cart, but that wasn’t so difficult to get since my building has a bunch of shopping carts downstairs. Overall, I would say that I feel that I prepared everything I needed much better than how I prepare during my commercial process. When preparing for filming my commercial, I simply assumed that I already had a lot of the props and the resources I needed. By not properly preparing, I had to change a lot of the elements of my commercial during the filming process. When filming my music video however, all i really had t do was follow what I had in my storyboard. The only scene that I didn’t do was scene number 6 of my storyboard because that is a scene that I supposed to be animated not filmed. This scene will then be edited in with my filmed scenes  during my editing process and when actually filming I simply used my phone as a camera. Locations in which filming was done was basically just my apartment and my buildings hallway. The only actors that I had was myself, seeing as I'm working alone.
