My Pitch Blog
If I’m of creating a film, I’m thinking of having our story be told from the eyes of our antagonist, as he travels through different dimensions similar to his own. I want him to find some strange crystal in his drawer one day, and when he touches it he finds himself in another dimension. In this new dimension similar to his own, he finds a different version of his house to find another crystal in his drawer as he goes on a ahead and touches that crystal and so on and so forth. Our antagonist will travel through different dimensions, each one slightly different. He continues to travel to each dimension until he finds the one that doesn’t have a crystal in his drawer. Once he finds that dimension, he knows that he has made his way back home. The problem is that with each dimension he travel too the more and more he forgets about his home reality. I want my antagonist to fight an alternate version of himself in a dimension that he thinks is his own. When the story ends, our antagonist is at peace because he thinks that he’s made his way home but the audience will know that he is in the wrong dimension because it will have visual clues that will look different from his original dimension because he lost his memory thanks to all the dimensions he’s traveled too. I want this film to be confusing, but not too confusing. I want the audience to understand the story, but then leave the theatre contemplating the events of the film. For my second pitch, I want to have our antagonist exit his body for a day as he tries to make his way back. Perhaps in then beginning of the story, he uses his new abilities gained from not being in his body to mess around, and use his powers irresponsibly. As the story goes on, our antagonist becomes mora no more tired of his powers, and more alone as nobody can actually see him. He would basically be a ghost. As time goes on he realizes that the best part of life, is being mortal. As a mortal, he can make friends, learn new things, and be with the people he cares about. He even learns to appreciate to failures, the downsides of being human. This would then lead to the conciliatory of the film in which he works tirelessly to find his way back into his body. Out of these two pitches, I’m going to go ahead and pick the first pitch. The idea of multi-dimensional travel is pretty interesting, and this is a pitch that I’ve come up with a while ago, so I’m excited to put my ideas on the screen.
