Production Blog: Scheduling
With majority of the props, costumes, and materials gathered for my project, I figured I can begin scheduling the shooting process. When it came to scheduling days for filming, I had to pick dates that I knew that I would be free for. This meant that days were I didn’t have school would probably work best. If I film on a weekend, for example, I don’t really have to worry about redoing different shots. If I work on a weekend, I would have enough free time to use as many shots as needed. So, I’ve decided that a good time to begin filming would be from April 2nd to April 4th. I think this works pretty well, because the 2nd falls on a Friday, which is a day in which I will have no school. Friday then leads relight into the weekend, so I would have three days to begin filming. I say the word “begin” filming because I don’t expect to finish filming in theses three days. I will most likely film from weekend to weekend going forwards. This is because I’ll need to balance my schedule so that I could work on my filming, while also doing work from other classes. I think that it’s important to keep in mind that this schedule is actually temporary. If due dates end up coming closer and closer, I might have to switch things up a bit. Shooting on the weekends would be ideal, but if necessary I could film during the weekdays as well. That being said, I’m not sure when the editing process will begin. This is because the editing process relies solely on my filming process. If it takes me three weeks to film, then I’ll start editing three weeks from now. If it takes my seven weeks to film, I’ll being editing seven weeks from now. I suspect that it shouldn’t take that long, but I’m just using this as an example, because I can’t begin editing until I have all the footage I’m happy with. With editing however, I think I can be more lenient and do the work during any day of the week. As long as I have the technology ( which I do ) this shouldn’t be a problem.
