Creative Critical Reflection

 Below is my creative critical reflection to my film, “Dimensions”. This was a lot of fun to work on because I got to look back son what did and didn’t work in my final product. In other words I was able to look back on things I would’ve changed in my film, so that I can improve future projects going forward.

Title Research: Star Wars: A New Hope

Website used: Art of the Title  -What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The opening sequence of the film starts of by displaying name of the production company, and the famous phrase: “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....”. This is then followed by the title of the film: STAR WARS. After the title of the film slides away, the audience is treated with multiple paragraphs of text filled with prologue for the film that is about to be watched. -What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The images prioritized  within this sequence would have to when the Filsm title comes on screen. As soon as the title comes on exiting music instantly comes on, and slowly fades away as the title fades away. Production blog: Costumes

  When gathering the costumes that I was preparing fro my film I ran into a few issues that I hadn’t originally taken into account. I originally planned to have the following: a casual look with pants and short-sleeve, a fancy suit, and pajamas. Seeing as I’m working alone on the project, I will be the only one wearing these costumes. My story is supposed to begin with my character preparing for his birthday the night before. At this point, he is wearing his casual clothes, and he is preparing his suit to wear in the morning. I was originally thing of having the character then be in pajamas since this is at night, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable in pajamas while on camera so I decided not to do this. I also realized that parts of the story wouldn’t add up, because I wanted my character to already be in his suit the next morning. So I then changed the story so that the main character is so excite for his birthday, that he chooses to wear his birthday suit in his sleep. This way, the...

Filming Blog

 On Thursday, October 29 I began filming my commercial. There was actually quite a few things I realized I had to change about my commercial once I actually began filming. I had originally planned to print out multiple star-wars themed images onto computer paper so I can use that as a backdrop. With perfect timing however, my printer ran out of ink, and I didn’t want a black and white background. I then began searching for colored construction paper to create a different backdrop, but since the colors of the construction paper was so bright, any folds, imperfections, or dust on the paper would be very visible on film. I then just so happened to find 6 black canvas’s that reminded me of some of the backdrops that are supposed to represent the darkness of space in Star Wars. Not to mention they looked really good on film. With that out of the way, I was planning on using my brothers Darth Vader action figure as a prop that can interact with the baby yoda toy.
