Production blog: Continuing the filming process
Today happened to be a short day at school, so I figured I could switch up my schedule and use the is extra time to keep filming. This is something that Ive especially found useful when filming, because Ive realized something new about my movie. My script follows the story of a guy who wakes up, and finds himself in an endless loop as travels between realities. With each reality being incredibly similar, my film takes inspiration from films similar to Groundhog Day. In my story, however, the main character keeps on reliving the same morning over and over agin across multiple dimensions. This being said, I’ve realized during filming that lighting changes a lot from he morning to the afternoon. Depending on the brightness and the shadows, you can tell what time of day a scene is taking place. This wasn’t much of a problem for locations without any windows, because they wouldn’t be using any natural light anyways. Locations that did have windows, however would prove more difficult. For scenes in these locations I had to film in the mornings, or at least close to the morning. Admittedly I ended up filming in the midday mor often. Other than that I simply continued filming and did some reshoots. The only other issue I suppose were the props. I originally put my props the last time I filmed, and forget were I put them. I was having trouble finding them, so I suppose a personal note would be to take better care of the props and costumes on set. I also noticed some neighbors in my building were looking at me funny, seeing as I was in a suit filming something. Just in case, another personal note would probably be to film in places that wont disturb nearby people. I don’t think my filming was bothering anyone, but its important for the future. Some people who may end up on camera might feel uncomfortable, so I should keep note of that. Anyway, I’m pretty close to completing the filming process. I expect to be done filming on Saturday, and begin editing on Sunday.
