Creative critical reflection for music video

Image
Name: __Daniel Markov__________   Creative Critical R eflection 1.  How does your product  use or challenge conventions AND  how does it represent social groups or issues?         I personally believe that my product challenged the conventions that would typically be used in a music video. For example, in the beginig of my music video I created a scene were I am supposed to be reading a magazine, with the magazine cover facing the camera. On the front and back of that magazine, I was able to write the title of the song, the artist it was made by, and who the music video was made by ( which was of course me). I feel that this challenges typical music video conventions because normally the title and information of music video ‘s tend to be edited into the video. I however, was able to incorporate the title of music video into the opening shot in a way that naturally fit the story my music video is portraying. Another way I believe I challenge...

My Music Video

Image
I would say that my production process and production quality has improved greatly since my last project. For example, I’m my commercial project the cuts in my video were very abrupt, but in my music video I was able to make my abrupt cuts match up with different beat drops in my music.By doing this, i feel that my abrupt cuts are more stylized. Also, I chose to have an orange filter in my music video. Again, this makes the final product feel more stylized, especially compared to my commercial. If I were to change anything, it would be my animation. I didn’t end up practicing my animation skills as much as I would have wanted to, and therefor my animation looks a little sloppy. I don’t think it came out horrible, but I can definitely do better. I would have also tried to plan out the timing of all my scenes better. By deciding the number of seconds that each take would’ve been ahead of time, It would have been easier to have it be at one minute. Since I didn’t go through with this...

Editing Blog for Music video

Image
I originally began my filming process by screen recording the actual song that I’m using from YouTube, and then separating the audio from the video, so that I can then insert only the audio into my project to begin with. I made sure to cut the song I’m using down to one minute. This way when I insert my different clips I will be able to constraint my music video down to that time frame. After I inserted the audio of my song, I began inserting the clips I had created form the filming process. For this project I used iMovie as my main editing software on my iPad. Using this software made the editing process pretty easy, seeing as I could upload all my clips directly from my phone, and into the iMovie app. Once I uploaded all my clips into iMovie, I made sure to arrange them into the order of my storyboard. I then made sure to disconnect all the individual clips of audio from my individual scenes, so that I can then delete that audio. The audio from my different scenes would have had...

Filming Blog (Blog for 12/3)

Image
Since this is supposed to be an update blog, and I missed the due date for my original filming blog, I figured I would include the information that was meant to go into that blog and include it here. I’m aware that the grade for my filming blog is still a zero since I didn’t submit it on the due date, but I’m hoping that this blog will at least present some useful information regarding to my filming process. The first scene of my music video would be a scene of myself holding up a magazine close to the camera. The cover of the magazine would have the title of the song on the cover, and the singer who made the song. I knew that for this scene I would have to create the magazine cover myself. That was most likely the most complicated prop I had to have on the set, because it was one of the only props I needed to create myself. Other props such as sunglasses, and a handbag were much easier to obtain because all I had to do was borrow those items from my mom.The only other props I had...
